Matthew Dempsey—the former vice president of instruction at Lone Star College-CyFair—is serving as LSC-UP’s interim president, according to the college system's website.

- Three rounds of candidate interviews
According to LSC officials, Fraire’s last day was June 7 and the position was posted June 17 for candidates to apply.
LSC officials declined to comment on the reason for Fraire’s departure.
Fraire replaced former LSC-UP President Shah Ardalan who was named president of Randolph Community College, as previously reported by Community Impact.
