Project-based classes at Code Wiz allow students to learn at their own pace, according to a news release. Students can learn how to build their own versions of popular video games such as Roblox, Minecraft and Unity; pick up Python programming language; build websites in HTML, CSS and Javascript; and join a robotics competition team at Code Wiz. The business also hosts birthday parties, opportunities for Girl Scouts to earn badges and off-site classes.
“It’s never too early to start preparing your kids for a future in STEM,” franchise owner Ton Bui said in a statement. “Coding has become the basic literacy for our future, and we want to give our daughter an early exposure to coding and robotics so she will be ready for a career in technology. I’m excited to help our local children here in Cypress reach their full potential!”
Grand opening festivities will include interactive coding and robotics programming for children, games, raffles, face painting, giveaways and refreshments. The business will also be collecting donations of peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, canned fruit, tuna, spaghetti sauce, pasta and dried beans for local nonprofit Cy-Fair Helping Hands.
The first 50 families who sign up will receive a 31.4% discount off lifetime memberships. Free trial classes will begin March 9, according to the release. www.thecodewiz.com/cypress-tx
