Cy-Fair ISD's annual Bus Buddies program returns for the first two days of school this August.
In partnership with the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce, Cy-Fair ISD’s Bus Buddies program returns for its 12th year Aug. 27-28.
Overseen by the district’s transportation and community engagement departments, the program invites volunteers to ride along with elementary school bus riders as they return home after school. The program is designed to help put riders at ease and to help ensure students are dropped off at the right bus stops.
Registration is now open at www.cfisd.net/busbuddies. No training is required to participate, but volunteers are asked to commit from 2:45-5 p.m. on the first and/or second day of school.
Nearly 470 volunteers from 120 local businesses and organizations assisted elementary bus riders last year.
