With the opening of Bridgeland High School, Wells and Hoover elementary schools and a replacement campus for Matzke Elementary School,
attendance boundaries in Cy-Fair ISD are changing. Here is what you need to know before school starts next Monday.
High school changes
Students entering
11th and 12th grades will continue attending the schools they attended last year, including students in Cypress Ranch, Cypress Springs and Cypress Lakes high schools.
However, many students who attended Cy Ranch as 9th graders last year will be rezoned to Bridgeland High School for
10th grade. The following subdivisions have been rezoned from Cy Ranch to Bridgeland.
• Avenues at Cypress Apartments
• Bridgeland
• Bridle Oaks Estates
• Cypress Park, north of Hwy. 290
• Fairfield
• Fairfield North
• Fairfield Ranch Apartments
• Fairfield West
• Falls at Dry Creek
• Lakes of Fairhaven
• Saddle Ridge Estates
• Schiel Road, east of Mason Road
• Villages of Cypress Lakes South, east of Mueschke Road
Meanwhile, new boundaries for incoming
9th graders are also going into effect this year to even out enrollments with the opening of Bridgeland High School moving forward. Notable changes involve rezoning certain subdivisions from Cypress Woods, Cy-Fair and Cypress Falls high schools to Cy Ranch. Several subdivisions will also move from Cy Ranch to Cy Woods. Middle school changes
Only one adjustment has been made to middle school boundaries heading into the 2017-18 school year in order to keep up with changing elementary school boundaries around Matzke and Millsap elementary schools.
About 40 Bleyl Middle School students will move to Hamilton Middle School to realign the school feeder patterns. Students in Millridge Forest, Regency Forest Place and Regency Oaks Apartments will be affected.
Detailed boundaries can be found
here.
Elementary school changes
Boundary changes to adjust for the openings of Hoover and Wells elementary schools are expected to affect about 3,329 students at
24 schools.
Most notably, students in several subdivisions formerly zoned to Pope Elementary School will be rezoned to Wells, including Bridgeland Lakeland Bend, Bridgeland South, Mirabella and Parklane Cypress Apartments.
Hoover will have the same boundaries as Jowell Elementary School, with students in early education through second grade attending Hoover and students in grades 3-5 attending Jowell. Students in Remington Grove, Yaupon Ranch and Westgate (west of Creek) will be rezoned from Andre Elementary School to Hoover/Jowell.
