The Cy-Fair ISD board of trustees unanimously approved two local board policy revisions, strategic plan goals and updated performance objectives for the 2026-27 school year during a Sept. 14 regular meeting.

Local board policy revisions include those regarding parents’ rights and responsibilities regarding parent consent to administer student well-being questionnaires, or surveys pertaining to specific matters.
Policy additions recommended by Trustee Todd LeCompte during the Sept. 10 work session were included in the approved revisions. The additions state parents should be notified, prior to its administration, of any survey that does not require their consent and provide parents the opportunity to opt their student out of the survey, according to the meeting agenda.
The board of trustees also unanimously approved revisions to local board policy related to class ranking.
During a Sept. 10 work session, the board of trustees presented the 2026-27 Strategic Plan Goals and Performance Objectives prior to its Sept. 14 unanimous approval. The approved goals and paired objectives for the current school year pertain to:
“We took a lot of time and discussion, making sure that we were taking in feedback that we’ve been hearing in the community, feedback from the cabinet to really dig deep and make sure that these [goals and objectives] fit our priorities and where we all want to go,” Trustee Kendra Camarena said.
