While teachers and administrators have professional days from Aug. 14-25, school starts for Cy-Fair ISD students on Monday, Aug. 28. Here’s what you need to know:

Aug. 15-18: New student registration

All campuses host new student registration from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. To find out which school and bus route your child should attend, enter your address here. The following items are required for registration:

  • Certified copy of the child’s birth certificate

  • Current immunization record

  • Government-issued photo ID for the child’s parent or legal guardian

  • Proof of residency (current light, gas or water bill and lease if applicable)

  • Child’s social security card

  • Report card or transcript from the child’s last school (if registering for sixth or ninth grade)

Bus information

CFISD buses are routed to arrive at campuses 20 minutes prior to the first bell ringing. Parents should receive bus route information the week of Aug. 14 via postcards in the mail, email or voicemail. Officials encourage parents to have their children at the bus stop five to 10 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. In the first few weeks of schools, allow time for delays due to traffic adjustments, student seat assignments and campuses ensuring all students are loaded.

Starting Aug. 16, community volunteers can register to volunteer for Bus Buddies, an annual program to assist students and bus drivers the first two days of school.
