Citing roughly 248 public comments about proposed attendance boundary shifts, Cy-Fair ISD has introduced five more changes that could accommodate a growing student enrollment at the elementary school level.

  1. Hancock Elementary School to Matzke Elementary School
    Mills Crossing
    Tallow Wood North
Along with Grants Trace and Mandolin Park, a total of 271 students would be rezoned to Matzke. As a result, Matzke would start the 2017-18 school year with 1,045 students.

  2. Matzke Elementary School to Hancock Elementary School
    Linnfield
The subdivision of Linnfield, including 119 students, would be rezoned to Hancock. This change would give Hancock a total of 958 students in the 2017-18 school year.

  3. Keith Elementary School to A. Robison Elementary School
    Villages of Cypress Lakes
Trustees and members of the public commented on the need for Keith to have additional enrollment relief beyond what was already suggested at the November board meeting. Villages of Cypress Lakes, containing roughly 178 students, would be rezoned to A. Robison, putting Keith at an enrollment of roughly 925 in the new school year. Even with this change, Keith is projected to have 1,085 students within five years.

  4. A. Robison Elementary School to Sampson Elementary School
    Western Trails
    Greystar Cypress Village Apartment
    The Provenza Apartment
This infusion of 73 students will put Sampson at 950 students in the new school year. A. Robison is projected to be at 1,037 students.

  5. A. Robison Elementary School to Farney Elementary School
    Cypress Ranch Estates
In a change suggested not out of enrollment relief but out of normalizing attendance boundaries, six students in Cypress Ranch Estates will be rezoned from A. Robison to Farney. This subdivision sits between two residential codes that already attend Farney.

Kristi Giron, CFISD's director of general administration, said all of these changes will keep the campuses involved below their respective capacities for the next five years.

These and the already suggested attendance boundary changes will be voted on during the Jan. 23 board meeting. Public commentary can be expressed up until that time here.
