Cy-Fair ISD officials have announced Ana Martin as the new principal at Cy-Fair High School. Martin will replace Michael Smith, who was named principal of the new Bridgeland High School in October.

“I am honored and excited to return to Cy-Fair High School to serve as principal,” Martin said. “I am committed to being a good steward of the traditions and pride of ‘BFND’ and am determined to continue to build on that spirit of excellence. I am eager to get started and look forward to getting to know the students, staff and community.”

With 25 years of CFISD experience, Martin comes most recently from Kahla Middle School where she served as principal. She started as a Spanish and French teacher at Cy-Fair High School, moved to the same position at Cypress Falls High School and became Spanish team leader.

After six years, Martin was named counselor at Cypress Springs High School. She served another six years before accepting an assistant principal position at Cypress Ridge High School.

After three years, she was named director of instruction at Cy Ridge. She was later named principal of Kahla in 2012.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in secondary teaching and a master of educational psychology from the University of Houston. She received her master of educational administration from Sam Houston State University.
