AIV to build 320,000-square-foot facility off Telge Road in Cy-Fair

An oil and gas company is consolidating its operations and expanding to Cy-Fair with a major acquisition off Telge Road.

AIV—a global distributor of valves and actuators for the oil and gas, power generation, chemical, petrochemical, refining, pulp and paper and water treatment industries—announced Sept. 12 that it will build a new 320,000-square-foot facility on NW Lake Drive, near the Telge Road and Hwy. 290 intersection.

The office will allow AIV to consolidate its existing headquarters on the West Sam Houston Parkway with two separate modification facilities operated by Gulf Coast Modification, AIV’s in-house valve modification shop.

“This new state-of-the-art facility will not only provide a dramatic increase in square footage to house our expansive valve inventory, but it also allows us to bring all of our modification and actuation operations back under one roof,” AIV President Trey Cook said in a statement. “We believe this consolidation will greatly increase efficiency in the interaction between the divisions.”

The facility is located on a 32-acre site, which officials said allows for expansion up to 700,000 square feet. The company declined to disclose how much money the new facility will cost to construct.

The Houston-based design/build contractor KDW will break ground on the facility this year, and construction is expected to finish around late 2018. The facility will consist of two stories of Class A office space, warehouse space to store inventory and the fabrication facility where Gulf Coast Modification will be located.

AIV was founded in Houston in 1991 and has since expanded with sales and stocking locations in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Dubai and Singapore.
