“We wanted to offer something that's locally sourced, is good for your body, that's homemade, [and] that we really know what goes into it,” co-owner Beket Griffith said. “It's a true farm-to-table restaurant. We provide a wholesome experience for people and true wholesome food.”Meet the owners
Joanne Griffith said her farming roots come from her great grandparents who owned a farm in San Diego, while her cooking experience comes from her grandmother's recipes and years of cooking for her family from a young age.
The business was established 14 years ago to do something beneficial for the community with their own family, Beket Griffith said.Though Season’s Harvest started at a smaller location with crops sourced from local farms, the business relocated to the homestead acreage about 10 years ago and offers menu items grown on their own farms as well as from other local farms. On the menu
Season’s Harvest Cafe changes its menu once a quarter offering menu items made with seasonally grown crops, eggs produced by the farm’s chickens and cheese produced with the farm’s goats.
Crops grown at the farm include tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and other greens such as kale and collard greens. Menu items are created by Joanne Griffith and a team of eight cooks and include items such as stuffed bell peppers, lasagna made with farm-grown tomatoes and pesto made with farm-grown basil.“I like to put a lot of color on each plate, and I also look at food as a supplement, so I'm looking at how our food is going to benefit [people],” Joanne Griffith said.
Season’s Harvest Cafe also promotes health through health classes, health expos and farm field trips for local schools.
