Shannon and Jess Bonneau came to the Cypress area five years ago and found while the community had plenty of great bars and restaurants, locals needed something more.

“There are no real sports bars around that you can also bring your family to and that type of thing,” Shannon said. “It’s either a bar or a restaurant, ... so there’s no real middle ground right here in this area.”

The duo purchased a space off of Louetta Road and turned it into Lambeau’s Sports Bar & Grill, opening last September. The sports bar features large TV screens playing sports, a full bar and tables for those looking for a more traditional dining experience with the ambiance of a sports bar.

Lambeau’s Sports Bar & Grill’s menu features traditional American-style items such as burgers, fried chicken and hot wings as well as other items such as tacos and quesadillas. The bar and grill also features Sunday brunch with new menu items, including crab cake Benedict, the Lambeau’s skillet, and the steak and eggs flatbread.

The eatery has a handful of regular patrons who come to enjoy lunch after a round of golf or dinner after a long day of work.

“I’ve actually really loved getting to know the regulars that we’ve gotten,” Shannon said. “They really have become such a family.”

The Bonneaus foster the familial environment through their employees as well. According to Shannon, a key feature of the hiring process is word-of-mouth recommendations and connections with current employees.

“Especially in this industry, people hop around jobs a lot,” Shannon said. “They know that they can easily get a job somewhere else pretty quickly; it’s just the nature of the industry.”

Shannon said she hopes that while everything seems uncertain, the community will continue to recognize the efforts that local businesses put into keeping their doors open and customers happy.

“We pride ourselves on this business and what we’re able to add to the community here, ... and we do hope that people see that as small-business owners trying to make it right now in a tough time and tough industry,” Shannon said. “We’ve always done our best to support local and small, and we hope that we convey that and that other people will do the same and come out, not just for us, but for other small businesses in the area.”
