Rita’s Cantina Mexican Kitchen is expanding with a second location slated to open in May in the Jersey Village area at 14960 Hwy. 290, Houston. The original location in Pinehurst serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Owners Martha Gámez and sisters Blanca and Karina Luna became friends five years ago while working as waitresses at a Mexican restaurant in Spring, Gámez said in Spanish. That friendship later grew into a business partnership after the three waitresses became restaurateurs of Martha’s Mexican Restaurant & Grill in Tomball.
