In case you missed it
Customers interested in Zipline's services can download the Zipline app, create an account and search through the marketplace to place an order.
Once the order is placed, a drone will fly to the pickup location and hover 300 feet in the air while lowering a smaller pod to autonomously retrieve the order. Once the order is retrieved, the drone then flies to the delivery location, where it remains at 300 feet in the air and lowers that pod again, gently placing the package on the ground.
Zipline most recently partnered with Uber to deliver food through the Uber Eats app across markets where Zipline already operates, such as Dallas and Houston, according to an Aug. 17 publication.
Community Engagement Lead Zach Hill told Community Impact that while Zipline's first focus is to deliver food and groceries in partnership with local businesses, the company will soon expand its services to aid the healthcare system in Houston.
