Bulleit rye whiskey, simple syrup, bitters and a flamed orange are the ingredients used in the $10 Old Fashioned at Quench Lounge. Flora Aleman, Merita Bekiri and Minna Bekiri—the sisters who own Brother’s Pizza Parlor in the same corridor—opened Quench Lounge in November with a vision to bring elements of the city into the suburbs. “Cypress didn’t have a place like this out here,” Aleman said. “We wanted to create a place where anyone and everyone could be comfortable.” On the weekends, Quench has a club atmosphere with DJs and dancing, but during the week, it is more relaxed like a lounge, the sisters said. The drink menu ranges from traditional mules, mojitos and Manhattans to a variety of uniquely flavored martinis—including pineapple upside down, chocolate and white chocolate raspberry. Shareable finger foods, such as meat and cheese boards, paninis and dips are on the food menu, and brunch is served on Sundays.
