Alfred the Third’s Triple Cheese sandwich consists of gooey aged cheddar, butterkase and havarti cheeses grilled on artisanal bread and served with a side of peach jam. The Cheese Bar’s sandwich offers a refreshing take on a classic dish. Owner Troy Boyce said the sandwich was named after the father of his best friend and business partner in Pittsburgh—his home before moving to Cypress. The cheese fan inspired Boyce to pursue his business goals, and Boyce said he knew he wanted to honor his legacy by naming a sandwich after Alfred the Third. “He told us both to take the risk to do this, and we wouldn’t have done anything without him,” he said. “He was definitely a factor in making all this possible.” Diners can enjoy the full sandwich by itself or a half sandwich with a side of soup, a house salad or award-winning macaroni and cheese for $11.75.
