[g-slider gid="258849" width="100%" height="55%"] Cypress residents have a new Thai restaurant to try out with the opening of Bangkok Bistro on July 9 at 26084 Hwy. 290, Ste. 150, Cypress. Owner Steven Shi said that he noticed a lack of traditional Thai food options in the western part of Cy-Fair, which inspired him to open his eatery up right in the heart of Cypress, at Hwy. 290 and Spring Cypress Road. So far, the most popular items on the menu include the Pad Thai—made with stir fried noodles, eggs, green onions, bean sprout, peanuts and choice of meat, tofu or seafood—and the Red Curry—made with bamboo shoots, Thai eggplant, bell pepper, basil and coconut milk. The spring rolls, which are made fresh every day, have also proven to be popular, Shi said. The restaurant also serves Thai ice tea and Thai coffee, as well as domestic and imported beer, including a few options from Thailand.
