2. Local resident and city engineer Hisham Khweis along with wife Olga and friend Mustafa Awab opened Tahini Plus Mediterranean Kitchen on May 12 at 6180 Hwy. 6, Ste. 4. Joe Duong of The Shack Burger Resort hosted a grand opening for the restaurant’s third location on June 10 at 15719 Mueschke Road, Cypress. Featured burgers on the menu include the Mac & Cheese Burger, The Holy Guac and the Grease & Weasel, which is served between two honeybuns. 6. A new location of Russo’s New York Pizzeria opened June 5 at Fairfield Town Center, 28610 Hwy. 290, Cypress. 7. Wherever Bar & Grill opened at 8670 Hwy. 6, Houston in early April. This location is the “sister bar” of Whatever Bar & Grill on Jones Road but is a fresh concept with more variety, rotating beer options and high-end cocktails. The food menu includes burgers, wings, nachos and a selection of specialty grilled cheese sandwiches.
