The drinks menu at Cy-Fair’s newest Irish pub, Shamrock’s Pub, features a heavy dose of Irish favorites Jameson and Guinness. However, the pub owners wanted to branch out into a new direction, adding several martinis to the menu with distinctive ingredients.

The Dublin Mint Martini ($9), made with Rumple Minze peppermint schnapps, Frangelico, Kahlua and chocolate syrup, has a similar taste to a thin mint cookie, Manager Michael Nunez said.

Served with a cherry, the martini is deceptively strong, even without the whiskey base familiar to Irish cocktails. Customers find it to be a nice after-dinner drink, Nunez said.

“It’s something for people who are looking for a dessert they can drink,” he said.

Other cocktails on the menu include the Irish Mule, made with Jameson Black Barrel and ginger beer.
