Industrial supply company Grainger broke ground on one of its largest distribution centers at 1.2 million square feet on Oct. 1 in Hockley, according to an Oct. 2 news release.

The details

The center is being built on a 108-acre plot of land off of Hwy. 290 and Roberts Road in Hockley and will create over 400 jobs within a year of its opening in 2026, according to the release.

“This isn’t our first stop in the Lone Star State. Texas is home to more Grainger locations than any other state,” Grainger Senior Vice President Rob Reynolds said. “Grainger’s Houston Texas Distribution Center is going to be a state-of-the-art building that serves as a significant and tangible investment in our future.”

According to the release, the new distribution center will support Grainger’s plans to double the number of stocked industrial products in the market from 150,000 to 300,000.
