Officials with Harris County Precinct 1 said construction on the four-lane roadway was put on hold last May when the previous contractor left the project. Project scope also includes new traffic lights at Fallbrook Drive and Windfern Road, as well as modifications at West Road.
The project was in Harris County Precinct 4 before redistricting, and construction initially began in summer 2021. Precinct 1 is responsible for about $6 million of the total cost.
