Royalty Dental Associates—a company that provides dental services at two locations in Spring—purchased 1.5 acres of land in Cypress in July with plans to develop a 10,000- to 12,000-square-foot medical office project, according to an announcement from NewQuest Properties, which represented the seller in the transaction.
NewQuest's J.J. McDermott said the development site is located on Longenbaugh Road, close to the Barker Cypress Road intersection. The 1.5-acre tract is located between a Woodforest National Bank and Kiddie Academy. Nearby communities include Copper Lakes, Westgate and Lone Oak Village.
"It's one of the few remaining commercial development sites in this corridor," McDermott said.
Royalty Dental plans to occupy part of the building and lease the rest to medical service providers, according to the NewQuest release. Construction is expected to begin soon.
McDermott said the site is adjacent to another 5.3 acres of undeveloped land that is also up for sale. The land owner, Cypress 1999 Ltd., has a total 9 acres across two commercial tracts in the area, he said.
"We have had strong interest in the remaining acreage," McDermott said. "There's not much that's available for sale."
