Officials with Caldwell Companies plan to open a new collaborative co-working office building in Cy-Fair before the end of the year.
The Work Well, located at 13100 Wortham Center Drive, will allow individuals or groups to purchase memberships to work in a collaborative office environment.
Miranda Hadamik, vice president of investments for Caldwell Companies, said The Work Well is intended to address the lack of office space in the Hwy. 290 corridor.
“We see a trend in the office space market,” she said. “People want small, private office spaces. We’re creating an office community where people can come together and collaborate.”
The Work Well is being developed in a building already owned by Caldwell Companies. The process of refurnishing and restructuring the building is expected to last for another few weeks, with offices expected to open within the next 30 to 45 days, Hadamik said. Leasing is currently underway, she said.
The project will feature a variety of offices and workspaces ranging from large corner offices to open spaces for groups to work together. Hadamik said a variety of businesses and individuals have expressed interest.
“We’ve had interest from startups, lawyers, creatives, freelance writers and graphic designers,” she said. “We’ve also received interest from companies wanting to use the space as a satellite office for employees who don’t want to drive downtown for work.”
The Work Well will also offer guest speakers, coffee hours and other collaborative and group sessions for existing and new businesses to network, Hadamik said.
“We’re excited about the concept, we’re excited about the [Hwy.] 290 corridor gaining this structure,” she said.
