Two local burger restaurants in Cypress closed their doors overnight.

Rockwell Grill posted on its Facebook page that it would close its doors at its Telge Road location on Sunday.

“We wish it wasn’t but we are [closing our doors],” Rockwell Grill commented on its Facebook page. “We just can’t provide for our customers in our present location.”

The same Facebook comment invited followers to stay tuned to the page for updates about their newest location, born out of a collaboration with Eddie Jackson from the Food Network, which will open in mid-January. The new venture will include a craft beer tap room, according to the Facebook post.

This new venture will be located on Cypress Rosehill Road near Cypresswood Drive.

Cypress Station Grill posted a letter on its doors Monday announcing its own closing. The letter expressed the owners’ appreciation for its past eight years of being involved in the community with its regret of closing.

“For [eight] years we have had the blessing of serving you, your family, and your friends,” the letter said. “The closing of our doors is not fully understood, but we continue to believe in God’s promise.”

Owner Amanda Cano echoed this sentiment and said she is unsure of future plans.

"We knew from day one that we were here for more than good service and good food," Cano said. "If [God] has different plans, we just don't know what they are right now."

Paul Bellow, Amanda's father, said Cypress Station Grill closed in part because of the economy and road construction.
