Officials in Cy-Fair ISD reported 183 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on campuses from Jan. 4-10, including 81 staff members and 102 students across the district.

As of Jan. 11, the district reported 393 active cases and 1,170 recoveries since Sept. 8. This brings the district’s total number of cases reported since the start of the 2020-21 school year to 1,563, including 69 reported over the winter break from Dec. 21-Jan. 3.

The Texas Education Agency requires public school districts throughout the state to submit a weekly report detailing the number of test-confirmed positive COVID-19 cases among students and employees who participate in any on-campus activity. This data does not include students learning remotely and may not include those who test positive while in quarantine if they were not on campus during the period in which they were infectious.

Weekly data is shown below, and campus-specific data can be found here.
CFISD students and staff members who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms are eligible for free rapid testing services at the site where Windfern High School was formerly located, 12630 Windfern Road, Houston, near Pridgeon Stadium.

BinaxNOW tests are accessible for eligible individuals Mon.-Fri. from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Tests are administered via nasal swab, and results are ready in about 15 minutes, according to the district website.

A student ID or employee badge is required to receive one of these free tests, and students under age 18 must have parent or guardian consent. Appointments are required for students but not for employees. See additional requirements here.
