The inaugural A Taste of Cy-Fair, which took place Nov. 11 at Bridgeland's Lakeland Village Center, brought in about 1,000 attendees and raised around $20,000 for local nonprofit Cy-Hope, event organizers said.

The food festival organized by several local business owners raised the money through ticket sales, a fundraiser and a silent auction at the festival. The event was planned as a fundraiser for Cy-Hope's disaster relief efforts following Hurricane Harvey. Guests who attended the event sampled local restaurants, breweries and wine vendors, among other vendors.

Eric Lippmann, general manager of Marvino's Italian Kitchen in Cypress and one of the event's organizers, said he considered it to be a success overall.

"Everybody really put in the effort," he said. "All of us donated our time, and we received great feedback from vendors."

The event was sponsored by several local entities, including The Backyard Grill, Caldwell Companies, HEB and RTIC. A silent auction featured prizes like RTIC coolers and tickets to a Houston Texans football game.

Lippmann said he is is looking forward to bringing the festival back next year, but said organizers are planning to make a few tweaks.

"Next year, we're going to work on the lighting and a few other things," he said. "We plan to make this a regular event.
