Sept. 8: Friday Night Bites helps out hurricane survivors


The Bridgeland community is hosting its monthly food truck event, this time with the chance to help Hurricane Harvey victims by donating cleaning supplies, gift cards and baby supplies. Several food trucks, including Buttz Food Truck, The Cuban Spot, and Twisted Catfish as well as a car show. A portion of the profits will be donated to the United Way Relief Fund. 6-10 p.m. Free. Sept. 8: YMCA hosts Operation Backpack 2.0: Hurricane Harvey Relief


YMCA is hosting an extra Operation Backpack in response to Hurricane Harvey. Donations can be taken at several YMCA locations in the Houston area, particularly school supplies and teacher supplies.
