August 21: Jersey Village City Council meeting

City Council will receive the Long-Term Flood Recovery Plan from Dannenbaum Engineering Corp. and discuss the next steps to implement projects, including a proposed $2 million project in the 2017-18 city budget. August 22: The Nest holds monthly meeting

The Nest, a Christian LGBT ministry and support group, hosts its monthly meeting with support from Celebration Lutheran Church in Cypress. August 26: SJHR Cypress Chapter Iron Horse Run

To raise funds for Dream Catcher’s Stables, which provides equestrian therapy for special needs children, San Jacinto High Rollers Motorcycle Club is hosting an iron horse motorcycle race. August 26: Cypress LuLaCrawl

LuLaRoe Fashion Mamas are opening four houses and 10 retailers with fashion items and clothing for shoppers to view, try on and purchase. A grand prize of two wardrobes for two people will be given to select visitors who visit the four houses. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Free. August 27: Cy-Fair Warriors tryouts begin

Every Sunday, Cy-Fair Warriors Rugby team will hold tryouts for the male high school team as well as the newly introduced female high school team and middle school team.
