What we reported

Officials with the city of Jersey Village moved forward with several projects in 2018 and have plans to keep working on them this year. A 10,000-square-foot golf course convention center is planned to replace the existing clubhouse at the Jersey Meadow Golf Course. Jersey Village City Council also authorized the purchase of 23 acres of land within city limits south of Hwy. 290 near Jones Road in August with hopes to spur developer interest in the tract. City officials have targeted the area for a potential mixed-use project—known as Jersey Village Crossing—since 2010.

The latest

Construction could begin on the convention center around May and last about 8-9 months, during which time the existing club house will remain open. The Council will meet on Jan. 28 to get an update on the design process. City officials have also expressed optimism they are nearing an agreement with a developer at Jersey Village Crossing. Plans could entail a mix of residential units, retail, office space and green space.
