Hurricane Harvey's effects still linger in the Houston area. Flooding, debris, cleanup efforts and repairs are needed around the Cy-Fair area and its neighboring communities.

Precinct 4's Community Assistance Development will help clear fallen trees or branches in streets or neighborhoods, damaged road signs, debris cleanup, fire hydrants, gas meters, mailboxes and displaced manhole covers. Requests for these services are being accepted 24 hours a day.

Here are four tips from CAD officials regarding debris cleanup:

1. Patience: Precinct 4 has several neighborhoods to cover, but crews will get to each area as they move down the list.

2. Placement: Place debris for pickup 15 feet away from the curb, and anything that can be bagged should be placed in the garbage can instead of placed for pickup. Hazardous materials and contractor materials are not allowed.

3. Parking: Try not to park on the street so trucks picking up debris can move freely without damaging vehicles and property.

4. Public dumpster: To dump debris, save crews time and avoid property damage, drop debris off at 4603 Spring Cypress Road, Cypress, from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Any garbage, including overflowing garbage, can be dumped here.
