From traditional gyms to yoga studios, Cy-Fair welcomed several new fitness-related businesses in 2023. This list is not comprehensive.

1. Burn Boot Camp

Burn Boot Camp teaches members to alternate strength and conditioning days in 45-minute classes. Each workout focuses on different training methods for all areas of the body in order to constantly challenge the body. The high-intensity training offers members optimal cardiovascular conditioning, muscle growth and recovery to provide desired results. Free three-day trials are available.2. Come See Me on the Mat

Come See Me On The Mat, a Brazilian jiujitsu training facility, offers evening classes for both children and adults. Courses emphasize discipline, loyalty, and mental and physical health through self-defense training. The facility is currently offering a one-week free for new students.3. Hotworx

Hotworx utilizes dry sauna spaces for members to do isometrics, yoga, Pilates and high-intensity interval training, such as a short 15-minute routine of rowing or cycling. The infrared energy in the heated studio helps members speed up their metabolism and take less time to warm up before beginning resistance training, according to the website. Membership enrollment in January will be $20.24 for the New Year.4. Johnson Fitness & Wellness


Johnson Fitness & Wellness, the large specialty fitness retailer, opened its 17th location in Texas in 2023. The store offers an assortment of premium fitness and wellness equipment brands, such as Matrix Fitness, Vision Fitness and Horizon Fitness.5. The Little Gym

The Little Gym is open in Cypress Village Station and offers gymnastics and music classes for ages 4 months to 12 years old. Owner Nikita Shah, a Cy-Fair native, opened the business to help children learn and grow through movement and imaginative play.6. Master Kim’s World Taekwondo

Taekwondo Master Jongsang Kim opened his World Taekwondo in Cypress earlier this year. Kim has extensive experience in the martial art, including black belt status, as well as with the U.S. Olympic team, and teaches classes for students of all ages.7. PR Fitness Lab

PR Fitness Lab, formerly Prometrics Fitness Lab, focuses on encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and workouts. Following a musculoskeletal assessment, members can choose from services including athletic training, boot camps, one-on-one training, metabolic testing and monthly InBody scans. Trainers evaluate and craft personalized 12-week corrective stretching programs as well.8. Purple Dragon


Purple Dragon International Karate & Fitness Academy offers classes for children and adults of all ages. Instructors seek to motivate students to accomplish individual goals in karate, self-defense, karobics, kick-fit-boxing and Don Jitsu, which was created by Grandmaster Professor Don Jacob. Students are also taught principles of positive thinking and self-discipline.9. Red Owl Boxing

Gym Red Owl Boxing opened this summer in Cy-Fair—the first location in the U.S. for the Canadian business. The gym offers training classes for all ages and skill sets as well as live amateur boxing events.10. Stretch Revolution

Stretch Revolution, a health and wellness studio, offers one-on-one stretches and group stretching classes to improve the overall well-being of its clients. Owner Lizeth Garcia has nearly 30 years of experience in personal training in the fitness industry and has found stretching was a key component of ongoing fitness.11. Unleash Yoga

Unleash Yoga offers hatha and chair yoga, as well as massage therapy. Owner Nicole Fife said she is offering two New Year’s specials—a two-for-one buddy pass for first-time visits for $30 and three months of unlimited classes for $100.
