Throughout 2022, a number of local business announcements were made in Cy-Fair. Check out 10 below.
1. The interior design business Deluxe Fan Caves opened Jan. 4 for orders, according to founder and owner Bob Tinn. The business takes customer commissions for "fan caves," or specialized spaces for displaying memorabilia or collections. Tinn said Deluxe Fan Caves can also install home theaters, special lighting and custom murals. Tinn said he was inspired to start the business by his own collection of Dallas Cowboys memorabilia. 2. A new location of Trophy Monster opened at 6702 Northwinds Drive, Houston, in February. The Europe-based shop sells awards, plaques, medallions and trophies; these items can be picked up in store or ordered online for delivery. 281-416-4003
3. Eagle Remodeling and More opened at 27118 Hwy. 290, Ste. E, Cypress, in mid-February, bringing 15 years of experience and remodeling expertise to the area. The family-owned business offers remodeling services for bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens as well as room additions with design services completed in-house. 4. Craft store Bobbins & Threads opened March 1 at 10130 Grant Road, Ste. 214, Houston. The store offers various classes for attendees to learn how to make items, such as tote bags or sweatshirts, as well as painting lessons. 346-206-2210
5. Nonprofit veterinary clinic Emancipet opened its newest affordable vet clinic April 13 inside PetSmart at 13830 Hwy. 290, Houston. The clinic offers discounted services starting at $15 to provide spay/neuter surgery, preventative care, vaccinations, microchips and other services. 713-321-2713
6. Premier Martial Arts opened a new location at 11550 Louetta Road, Houston, on June 1. The studio offers martial arts classes for children and adults, and can cover various disciplines, such as karate, krav maga, taekwondo and kickboxing. 281-869-3590
7. Purple Mattress opened its first brick-and-mortar location in the Houston area July 2 at Houston Premium Outlets, 29300 Hempstead Road, Cypress. The business offers beds in boxes with brand-specific designs as well as pillows, cushions, sheets and bed frames.
8. National charcuterie franchise Graze Craze opened a new location at 12234 Queenston Blvd., Ste. 500, Houston, at the end of August. Graze Craze offers catering options for parties and other events. The charcuterie boards are customizable, and delivery is available. 346-474-7293
9. Boxing gym franchise Legends Boxing opened its newest location Sept. 12 at 15103 Mason Road, Ste. C3, Cypress. The gym offers USA-technique boxing classes, providing high-intensity workouts and self-defense skills.
