The latest Local small batch brewery Wicked Boxer Brewing hosted a soft opening Dec. 16. The brewery started operating under regular hours in January after its grand opening.

What’s next Last year ended with announcements for several breweries to open in Cypress. Tiffany Richie, one of the former owners of Rockwell Grill, announced plans to launch a new venture with business partner Gary Marler called Brew:30 Taphouse. The business—which is set to open in early 2018 at 15914 Telge Road, Cypress—will offer local, regional and rare national craft beers. Richie said they will also have the first crowler machine in Cypress, allowing guests to take their beer home.

Amateur brewer Thomas Lemke is also planning to open Klaus Brewing Company on Jones Road in April. The brewery will specialize in German brewing techniques with pilsner, helles and lager beers. The company will have an outdoor beer garden with room for food trucks and live musical performances.
