Nine candidates have filed to run in the Cy-Fair ISD board of trustees election this November as of the Aug. 18 filing deadline, according to the district’s board elections website.
Four-year terms are available for the following trustee positions:
- Position 5, currently held by board Vice President Natalie Blasingame
- Position 6, currently held by board President Scott Henry
- Position 7, currently held by Lucas Scanlon
Blasingame and Henry will run against each other for Position 6 this fall. Scanlon did not file for reelection as of Aug. 18.

What’s next
Aug. 22 is the last day to file for write-in candidacy for the general election ballot. The district will host a candidate forum from 6-9 p.m Oct. 15 in the Berry Center, located at 8877 Barker Cypress Road.
Oct. 6 is the last day to register to vote. Early voting begins Oct. 20, and Election Day is Nov. 4.
