After nearly two years of construction, the project on Hwy. 105 between FM 2854 and I-45 was 98% complete as of the latest available update from the Texas Department of Transportation on Sept. 1. The project constructs a raised median and widens the pavement. The cost of the project increased from $9.83 million as of an Aug. 3 update from TxDOT to $10.31 million as of Sept. 1.

At the same time, TxDOT crews have begun reconstructing and widening three other segments of Hwy. 105 to four lanes in the Conroe area.
  • A $51.83 million project from 10th Street to South Loop 336 is anticipated to wrap up in the third quarter of 2027 and was 3% complete as of Sept. 1.
  • An $89.72 million project from South Loop 336 to FM 1484 is anticipated to wrap up in the third quarter of 2026 and was 25% complete as of Sept. 1. Its cost increased from $88.92 million as of an Aug. 3 update.
  • A $107.3 million project from FM 1484 to the San Jacinto County line is anticipated to wrap up in the third quarter of 2027 and was 9% complete as of Sept. 1. Its cost decreased slightly from $107.94 million estimated as of an Aug. 3 update.
