The Texas Department of Transportation is continuing its work on FM 1097 to widen the road from two to four lanes with a continuous left lane between Blueberry Hill and Anderson roads in the Willis area. As of a Dec. 1 update from TxDOT—the latest information available—the first segment from I-45 to Anderson Road is complete, pending a final inspection. The span from Anderson Road to Conroe Hills Drive is 82% complete by James Construction Group and expected to wrap up in the fourth quarter of 2023. The western segment from Lake Conroe Hills Drive to Blueberry Hills Road is 10% complete by James Construction Group and slated to continue through the first quarter of 2024.
