The Texas Department of Transportation is hosting virtual and in-person public meetings to gather input on a proposed project along Hwy. 242 between I-45 and FM 1488 in the Conroe area.

The project proposes adding an eastbound and westbound lane to Hwy. 242 and reducing the existing vegetated median by 20 feet, converting it to a raised median. Three detention basins would also be constructed along Hwy. 242, which would require an additional 21 acres of right of way.

An in-person public meeting will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. on June 23 at Suchma Elementary School, 10261 Harpers School Road, Conroe.

Public comments on the proposed project must be received no later than July 11 by email or mail. A pre-recorded presentation will also be posted at www.txdot.gov on June 21 at 5 p.m. by searching "SH 242 from FM 1488".
