Ongoing projects


1. FM 1097 expansion
The Texas Department of Transportation continues its project to widen FM 1097 between I-45 and Anderson Road in Willis from a two- to four-lane road with a continuous left-turn lane. The project is 16 percent complete, but the timeline has been suspended as the contractor works on moving utilities and acquiring rights of way.
Timeline: Oct. 15, 2018-third quarter 2020
Cost: $14.9 million

2. FM 3083 expansion
TxDOT continues work on its project to expand FM 3083 from a two- to a four-lane road from east of the Union Pacific Corp. line to Loop 336 North. The project, which is 20 percent complete, is intended to improve mobility along the road.
Timeline: Nov. 12, 2018-fourth quarter 2019
Cost: $9 million

3. McCaleb Road expansion
Montgomery County continues construction on a project to expand McCaleb Road from Hwy. 105 to the overpass bridge of the BNSF Railway tracks along FM 2854. The project expands it from a two- to four-lane road with a continuous left-turn lane, and was originally slated for a February completion.
Timeline: January 2018-June 2019
Cost: $4.39 million

Upcoming projects


4. Wilson Road, Foster Drive sidewalks
Conroe plans to bid out a project in March to construct sidewalks along the north and south sides of Wilson Road from Plantation Drive to Hailey Street [4A] and replace the existing northern sidewalk along Foster Drive [4B]  between East Lightningbug Lane to South Seventh Street.
Timeline: TBD
Cost: $355,000
