At Montgomery County Food Bank's third annual Outrun Hunger run June 8, participants raised enough money for close to 205,000 meals, according to a Montgomery County Food Bank news release.
The overview
The proceeds of Outrun Hunger will benefit those in need who utilize the Montgomery Food Bank. At the event, participants could have signed up for a 5K trail run and an additional 1K color dash.
All ages were invited to participate in the annual event. This year, a record-breaking 456 participants ran around The Lake House at Grand Central Park in Conroe, according to the news release.
Participants were also able to raise funds before race day.
Every $1 raised provided up to four meals, according to the event’s website.
