2. Inaugural Christmas on Main following tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 28 The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony returns to downtown Conroe. Community members are invited to attend a celebration that includes carriage rides, holiday characters, carolers and hot chocolate. Following the tree lighting ceremony, the city of Conroe invites guests to stay for the inaugural Christmas on Main celebration. 3. Christmas is for Giving fundraiser kicks off on Nov. 28 The Conroe Art League hosts the annual Christmas is for Giving fundraiser from Nov. 28-Dec. 30. Sales of all art, including fine art, paintings, sculpture, jewelry, fine crafts, ceramics and prints, benefits a good cause. Conroe City Council meets Nov. 29, 30 and Dec. 1 Conroe City Council members meet Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for special meetings to discuss and receive mediation of disputed issues related to the regulation of groundwater by the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District.
