According to the meeting agenda, which was posted online on Jan. 3, commissioners will look at extending a disaster declaration for a tornado which moved through the New Caney and Porter areas Dec. 28 as well as authorizing 91 acres of land for the staging of storm debris relating to the tornado.
Wheeler is also seeking to rename the new South Montgomery County Library and Community Center, which is currently under construction by Howard Hughes.
Also on the agenda
During executive session, commissioners are also scheduled to discuss filling the vacancy left following the resignation of Matt Beasley as Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace. Beasley resigned in order to join the Precinct 3 Commissioner's Office as chief of staff.
The meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 7 at the Alan B. Sadler Building in Conroe, and will be livestreamed for the public.
