The W.G. Jones State Forest will be closed temporarily following Hurricane Beryl, the Texas A&M Forest Service announced in a July 11 Facebook post.

The forest service’s personnel in Conroe and Huntsville are assisting with recovery efforts, after which they will assess and clean up the damage in the state forest, according to the social media announcement.
Hurricane Beryl hit the Greater Houston area July 8, leaving over 2.2 million people without power, Community Impact previously reported.
