Mandatory water restrictions in the northwest portion of Conroe are no longer in effect after the city called off its Stage 2 drought, according to an Oct. 17 news release. The entire city remains under a Stage 1 drought, which comes with voluntary water restrictions.

The details

According to the news release, the city cited the successful repair of water production equipment in the northwest part of the city as the reason for the drought stage downgrade.

The city is still under a Stage 1 drought, for which water conservation measures are voluntary and include:

  • Minimizing or discontinuing nonessential water use
  • Odd addresses watering only on Wednesdays between 8 p.m.-8 a.m.
  • Even addresses watering only on Thursdays between 8 p.m.-8 a.m.

The city originally enacted its drought stages Sept. 7, Community Impact previously reported.
