At its Sept. 14 regular meeting, Conroe City Council unanimously approved its fiscal year operating budget, capital improvement program budget and tax rate. Council Member Harry Hardman was absent from the meeting.

According to the Sept. 14 agenda documents, for FY 2023-24:
- The city’s general fund budget outlines $124 million in revenues and $122 million in expenditures.
- Conroe’s tax rate is $0.4272 per $100 valuation, which is the same tax rate the city had in FY 2022-23.
- The city’s capital improvement program outlines $8.3 million that the city—excluding funding from other sources such as the general fund—will spend on general government capital projects.

According to the CIP, when it comes to general government capital projects, Conroe anticipates spending:
- $4.5 million on street projects
- $1.03 million on signal projects
- $2.64 million on drainage projects
- $200,000 on parks projects
