July 1: Celebrate Independence Day
The city of Conroe is hosting an Independence Day celebration where there will be food trucks, vendors, kids activities and fireworks.

The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a freedom festival to celebrate the Fourth of July, where attendees will get to participate in a parade. Participants can use Jeeps, cars, horses or wagons. No long trailers are allowed. Three awards will be given for best overall, best theme and best spirit. There will also be a kids zone and vendors. Preregistration is required for parade participants.

Singer Abby Anderson will be performing at Margaritaville as part of a summer night concert series at the resort. According to Total PR, Anderson is a country singer known for her pop melodies. Drinks will be available for purchase.

Conroe’s concert series will feature Walter Suhr and Mango Punch. The event will include on-site food trucks, and outside food and drinks will be allowed. Glass containers are prohibited.

The Conroe Downtown Area Association is hosting a sip and shop in downtown Conroe. The event will include vendor galleries, live music and food. Attendees will also be able to collect tickets at each shop for a chance to win a grand prize.

A sports cards show will be coming to Conroe for attendees to buy, sell and trade from over 130 tables of sports cards, Pokemon cards, memorabilia, toys, Funko pops and comics. The event will also have giveaways and raffles.

The Conroe Art League will host an intro to oil painting class for teens. The class will include how to use supplies, understanding the fundamentals of oil painting, color mixing and color application. Participants will also paint a landscape or still-life oil-based painting with the guidance of a teacher. It is open to ages 15-18. Supplies will be provided.

The city of Montgomery will host its annual water party. The event will include water slides, beach balls, water toys and wading pools for babies. Mobile food units will also be on-site with food available for purchase.

The High Caliber Gun and Knife Show will feature more than 100 exhibitors showing guns, knives and related items at discounted prices. The event is a buy, sell and trade event.
