Conroe ISD Education Foundation raised a total of $340,000 at its Scholarship Breakfast event April 25. The fundraising amount was a record for the event, according to a news release from CEF.

A closer look

The CEF formed in 2001 and is governed by a volunteer board of directors and administered by a part-time executive director.

The annual scholarship breakfast is held each spring as its major fundraising source, and general contributions are accepted at all times of the year, according to its website.

The gist

The breakfast was held at the Jett Center at Woodforest Stadium and Natatorium with attendance from school officials, administrators, community members, public officials and higher educational leaders.

“There is no doubt that the ever-growing success of this foundation is a direct result of the direction of Superintendent Curtis Null, and the past vision and inspiration of former superintendent Dr. Don Stockton,” Executive Director Maris Blair said at the event.
