In a nutshell
Communications Director Sarah Blakelock told the board at the April 14 meeting the naming process is starting for new schools being built as part of the 2023 bond, including:
- Grand Oaks elementary: opening August 2026
- Conroe area intermediate: opening August 2026
- Grand Oaks ninth-grade campus: opening January 2027
- Grand Oaks seventh-eighth grade campus: opening August 2027
- Caney Creek ninth-grade campus: opening August 2027
- Conroe area junior high: opening August 2027
The district will take name suggestions from April 16 to May 9, and names will be submitted to the board at the May 13 meeting. The official decision will be made June 16.

In addition, on April 14 Superintendent Curtis Null recommended and the board approved the following principals:
- Milam Elementary School: Shawn Brieden
- Houston Elementary School: Miguel DeLaTorre
- Grangerland Intermediate School: Lauren Rucker
- Virtual School: Jenny Lucas
- The Woodlands High School: Dennis Muehsler
