The board talked about the potential for a change in the school year calendar at the Dec. 17 meeting, as previously reported by Community Impact.
In a presentation, Hedith Sauceda-Upshaw, the district's assistant superintendent for teaching and learning, presented the board with a list of calendars for Texas universities such as The University of Texas, as well as surrounding school districts.
The 2025-26 spring break dates in the region include:
- March 9-13: Baylor University, Blinn College, Cleveland ISD, Cy-Fair ISD, Katy ISD, Spring Branch ISD, Tomball ISD, Willis ISD
- March 16-20: Lone Star College System, Sam Houston State University, Texas A&M University, Texas State University, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, University of Texas, University of Texas at San Antonio, Spring ISD, Klein ISD
To give feedback, residents can respond to the survey by noon on Jan. 17.
