At their quarterly meeting on Feb. 22-23, the Texas State University System Board of Regents approved the design development documents for the future Sam Houston State University Health Professions Building, according to a Feb. 23 news release.

In a nutshell

The new four-story building will be located next to the College of Osteopathic Medicine in Conroe, according to the news release. It will house SHSU’s allied health programs in the core fields of:

• Athletic training
• Dietetics
• Physician’s assistant
• Physical therapy

What else?

This project is set to cost $65 million, according to prior reporting. Construction will begin on it after the adjacent parking structure is complete.
