Conroe, Montgomery and Willis ISDs are all seeing a rapid increase in student enrollment. The three districts each are projecting a double-digit percent increase in enrollment since the 2020-21 school year.

Student enrollment

Conroe ISD is projected to surpass 73,000 students in the 2023-24 school year, a roughly 14% increase from 2020-21. Its fast growth has caused the district to put a $1.9 billion bond on the November ballot.

At the same time, Montgomery ISD has clocked a double-digit percent increase in anticipated enrollment over the last four years. This comes as the district is starting work on new facilities funded by its 2022 bond package and has updated its demographic study, showing new enrollment projections over the next 10 years and the need for more schools.


Willis ISD is projected to see the greatest percent increase in enrollment since the 2020-21 school year, compared with neighboring districts.
Average salary by position

CISD surpasses the state average for superintendent salary by almost $200,000, data from the Texas Education Agency shows.
Number of teachers

Conroe and Willis ISD upped their number of teachers by at least 11% since the 2019-20 school year while the number of teachers in MISD fell 1.61% in that time.
Starting teacher salary

The three districts have all increased their salary for first-year teachers to stay competitive. For example, WISD has increased its starting salary 10%.
