In search for the ultimate comfort food, Alexia Guerra, who has lived in Montgomery for 30 years, said the concept for Spuds Potato Bar was driven by the area's need for food options offering standard “great prices for its value.”

Guerra said aside from providing a filling meal, Spuds Potato Bar, which opened last November, is notorious for providing a casual fast food experience with orders ready within five to eight minutes.

“You can definitely get the same experience as a sit-down restaurant, but with the quickness of a fast food restaurant,” she said.

What’s special about it?

With self-picked ingredients from local markets as well as from local vendors, Spuds Potato Bar offers baked potatoes with fresh ingredients made from scratch.

At Spuds Potato Bar, customers can select their choice of base, with options including a baked potato, baked sweet potato, sweet potato fries, tater tots or a salad spring mix. The base then can be personalized with over 40 unlimited toppings.

Aside from its build-your-own options, Spuds Potato Bar offers five signature potato options.

In addition to lunch and dinner options, Spuds Potato Bar added a breakfast base option in July with hashbrowns, eggs and over 40 topping options, Guerra said. The eatery also offers catering and delivery services through third-party couriers.

Staying local

As a 30-year Montgomery resident, Guerra said the restaurant has received positive feedback from the community about the taste and size of the potatoes offered.

“A lot of people say that they can get two meals out of one spud,” Guerra said. “Our customer photos are pictures of their hands beside their potatoes for reference.”

In return, Spuds Potato Bar supports its community by holding spirit nights for local Montgomery schools and offering discounts for first responders.
